Stream 3 – Telecommunication Services

3.1.0 Radio Frequency (RF) Systems Specialist

3.1.1 Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

1. Review, analyzes, and provides recommendations on LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF system and sub-system interface documentation;
2. Recommends LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF system level solutions for discrepancies, deficiencies, and changes to equipment and specifications;
3. Liaises with LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF sub-system technical groups to ensure system integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability;
4. Provides LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF system integration, analysis, and evaluation services;
5. Prepares the planning and procurement support documentation, including technical data specifications, plans and drawings, standards, and SOWs for miscellaneous interface and facility ancillary items;
6. Reviews, analyzes, and provides recommendations relating to LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF system components and associated documentation;
7. Conducts design, technical, and management reviews to monitor, advise, and report on progress and potential problems;
8. Conducts LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF system integration testing and evaluation;
9. Analyzes LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF system deficiencies and recommends cost effective solutions;
10. Reviews and reports upon suitability of industry documentation; and
11. Conducts technical definition studies and options analysis.

3.1.2 Occupational Minimum Mandatory Qualifications

A. Junior Radio Frequency Systems Specialist

No.	Description of Criterion
M.1	Must have a minimum of a university undergraduate degree OR a college diploma/certificate in any field.
M.2	Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Radio Frequency Systems Specialist

B. Intermediate Radio Frequency Systems Specialist

No.	Description of Criterion
M.1	Must have a minimum of a university undergraduate degree OR a college diploma/certificate in any field.
M.2	Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Radio Frequency Systems Specialist

C. Senior Radio Frequency Systems Specialist

No.	Description of Criterion
M.1	Must have a minimum of a university undergraduate degree OR a college diploma/certificate in any field.
M.2	Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Radio Frequency Systems Specialist
