3.2.0 Satellite Communication Specialist

3.2.1 Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

1. Prepares operational satellite communications deficiency and requirements documentation;
2. Reviews, analyzes, and provides recommendations on satellite communications interface documentation;
3. Reviews, analyzes, and provides recommendation on satellite communications engineering details, including plans, specifications, and related data, to assess their adequacy and suitability;
4. Recommends satellite communications level solutions based on an analysis of discrepancies, deficiencies and changes to equipment and specifications;
5. Liaises with engineering groups to ensure satellite communications integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability;
6. Provides satellite communications integration and analysis services;
7. Reviews, analyzes, and provides recommendations relating to satellite communications, and associated documentation;
8. Conducts design, technical, and management reviews to monitor, advise, and report on progress and potential problems;
9. Conducts satellite communications integration testing and evaluation;
10. Manages test and evaluation plans and presents the results;
11. Analyzes satellite communications deficiencies and recommends effective solutions;
12. Reviews, analyzes and provides recommendations on the suitability of industry documentation;
13. Develops test plans for prototypes and full tests; and
14. Conducts technical definition studies and options analyzes.

3.2.2 Occupational Minimum Mandatory Qualifications

A. Junior Satellite Communication Specialist

No.	Description of Criterion
M.1	Must have a minimum of a university undergraduate degree OR a college diploma/certificate in any field.
M.2	Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Satellite Communications Specialist

B. Intermediate Satellite Communication Specialist

No.	Description of Criterion
M.1	Must have a minimum of a university undergraduate degree OR a college diploma/certificate in any field.
M.2	Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Satellite Communications Specialist

C. Senior Satellite Communication Specialist

No.	Description of Criterion
M.1	Must have a minimum of a university undergraduate degree OR a college diploma/certificate in any field.
M.2	Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Satellite Communications Specialist
