3.7.0 Antenna Structure Engineer

3.7.1 Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Performs professional certifications, such as, "stamps" drawings, under the Professional Engineers Act of the Province of Ontario, or under a similarly appropriate act in the applicable jurisdiction;
  2. Reviews, analyzes, and provides recommendations on system and sub-system interface documentation;
  3. Reviews and evaluates engineering details, including plans, specifications, and related data, to assess their adequacy and suitability;
  4. Recommends system level solutions for discrepancies, deficiencies and changes to equipment and specifications;
  5. Liaises with sub-system engineering groups to ensure system integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability;
  6. Provides system integration, analysis and evaluation services;
  7. Prepares planning and procurement support documentation, such as technical data specifications, plans and drawings, standards, and SOWs, for miscellaneous interface and facility ancillary items;
  8. Reviews, analyzes, and provides recommendations relating to system components and associated documentation;
  9. Participates in design, technical, and management reviews to monitor, advise, and report on progress and potential problems;
  10. Conducts system integration testing and evaluation;
  11. Manages test and evaluation plans and presents the results;
  12. Analyzes system deficiencies and recommends cost effective solutions;
  13. Reviews and reports upon suitability of contractor produced documentation;
  14. Develops test plans for prototypes and full system tests;
  15. Conducts engineering and technical definition studies and options analyzes;
  16. Designs and tests prototype electronics assemblies, including the integration and customization of available IT hardware and software packages;
  17. Performs antenna towers engineering;
  18. Performs Radio Communications (LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF) engineering; and
  19. Performs microwave systems engineering.

3.7.2 Occupational Minimum Mandatory Qualifications

  1. Junior Antenna Structure Engineer

    Must have a minimum of a university undergraduate degree in Engineering from a Canadian Council of Professional Engineers (CCPE) accredited engineering program (Copy of certificate to be provided with the Bidder's proposal).

    OR

    Alternatively, should the candidate's degree be from a non-CCPE accredited engineering program, their engineering education credentials must be deemed 'substantially equivalent' by the CCPE via an application to the Engineering International - Education Assessment Program, (EI-EAP), (Copy of the official CCPE judgement to be included).

    M.2

    Must be a licensed as a Professional Engineer by the recognized Provincial Licensing Authority in the province or territory of work.
