Purpose of green procurement plans
Green procurement plans:
- outline key environmental impacts for a given good or service
- indicate the procurement actions that can be taken to mitigate environmental impacts
- gather information on the progress of implementing the Policy on Green Procurement for a given good or service
Reducing environmental impact in procurement
Every time we issue a procurement instrument, we strive to decrease the environmental impact of a given good or service.
Green procurement plans support this endeavour by including environmental considerations and criteria in the procurement decision-making process for Government of Canada purchases.
