CPSA Work Streams

Overview

The CPSA covers requirements for the four Work Streams listed below along with the Aboriginal Set-Aside (ASA), which covers the same services as Work Stream 3.

Experience Levels (Work Streams 1, 2, 3 and the ASA):

Excluding the exceptions indicated further below, experience levels have been defined for resource categories in the following manner:

SENIOR

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of three years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  2. College Diploma (two or three year program) in any discipline and a minimum of four years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  3. A minimum of five years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>.

INTERMEDIATE

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of two years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  2. College Diploma (two or three year program) in any discipline and a minimum of three years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  3. A minimum of four years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>.

JUNIOR

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of one year cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  2. College Diploma (two or three year program) in any discipline, and a minimum of two years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  3. A minimum of three years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>.

Exceptions (Work Streams 1, 2, 3 and the ASA)

Experience levels for the following resource categories have been defined as follows:

Work Stream 2: IT Security Team Leader
Work Stream 2, 3 and ASA: IT Security Design Specialist
Work Stream 3 and ASA: IT Security Engineer

Work Stream 2: IT Security Team Leader

SENIOR

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of four years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  2. College Diploma (two or three year program) in any discipline and a minimum of five years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  3. A minimum of six years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>.

INTERMEDIATE

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of two years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  2. College Diploma (two or three year program) in any discipline and a minimum of three years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  3. A minimum of four years cumulative experience in the last eight years related to <Resource Category Tasks>.

Work Stream 2, 3 and ASA: IT Security Design Specialist

SENIOR

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of six years cumulative experience in the last ten years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  2. College Diploma (two or three year program) in any discipline and a minimum of seven years cumulative experience in the last ten years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  3. A minimum of eight years cumulative experience in the last ten years related to <Resource Category Tasks>.

INTERMEDIATE

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of four years cumulative experience in the last ten years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  2. College Diploma (two or three year program) in any discipline and a minimum of five years cumulative experience in the last ten years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  3. A minimum of six years cumulative experience in the last ten years related to <Resource Category Tasks>.

JUNIOR

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of two year cumulative experience in the last ten years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  2. College Diploma (two or three year program) in any discipline, and a minimum of three years cumulative experience in the last ten years related to <Resource Category Tasks>. OR
  3. A minimum of four years cumulative experience in the last ten years related to <Resource Category Tasks>.

Work Stream 3 and ASA: IT Security Engineer

SENIOR

  1. University Degree in Sciences, Engineering or Mathematics, and a minimum of six years cumulative experience in the last ten years in <Resource Category Tasks>

INTERMEDIATE

  1. University Degree in Sciences, Engineering or Mathematics, and a minimum of four years cumulative experience in the last ten years in <Resource Category Tasks>

JUNIOR

  1. University Degree in Sciences, Engineering or Mathematics, and a minimum of two years cumulative experience in the last ten years in <Resource Category Tasks>

Experience Levels (Work Stream 4):

INTERMEDIATE

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of two years cumulative experience in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks> OR
  2. College Diploma (two or three year program) in any discipline, and a minimum of three years cumulative experience in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks> OR
  3. A minimum of four years cumulative experience in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks> OR
  4. For Canadian Forces Trained Personnel or Government of Canada employee: Qualification to the QL 5B trade level (or pre-1987 equivalent) or Electronic Group Definition (EL), and a minimum of three years cumulative experience in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks>

JUNIOR

Work Stream 4: Emission Security Engineering Design Specialist:

SENIOR

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of three years cumulative experience in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks> OR

Work Stream 4: Secure Equipment Life Cycle Management Specialist

SENIOR

  1. University Degree in any discipline, and a minimum of three years cumulative experience in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks> OR
  2. College Diploma (two or three year program) in any discipline, and a minimum of four years cumulative experience in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks> OR
  3. A minimum of five years cumulative experience in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks> OR
  4. For Canadian Forces Trained Personnel: CELE, MARE, LEME, MILE or AERE classifications, and a minimum of three years in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks> OR
  5. For Canadian Forces Trained Personnel or Government of Canada Employee: Qualified to the QL 5B trade level (or pre-1987 equivalent) or Electronic Group Definition (EL), and a minimum of four years cumulative experience in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks>

INTERMEDIATE

  5. For Canadian Forces Trained Personnel or Government of Canada employee: Qualified to the QL 5B trade level (or pre-1987 equivalent) or Electronic Group Definition (EL), and a minimum of two years experience in the last eight years in <Resource Category Tasks>

Work Stream 4: EMSEC General Support

Junior level only:

The resource must meet 4 of 7 of the following:

  1. Experience and or knowledge of Fibre optic/Copper cabling installation and termination;
  2. Basic knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Codes
  3. Experience and or knowledge of commonly used protocols i.e. RS-232/530/Ethernet
  4. Experience and or knowledge of Telecommunication cabling
  5. Experience and or knowledge in reading cable drawings/diagrams
  6. Experience and or knowledge of RED/BLACK cable separation installation criteria (ITSG-11)
  7. General knowledge of GC, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
