Alberta HACCP Advantage (AHA!)

List of certified companies
The Alberta HACCP Advantage (AHA!) Certification Program is the formalized process whereby a food safety management system is assessed against the Alberta Ministry of Agriculture and and Rural Development’s AHA! Standard. It includes a review of an organization's documented Alberta HACCP Advantage management system and ongoing audits of the facility to ensure the system has been implemented and is effective.
In many cases, implementing a AHA! management system means changing operations to lower the potential for food-borne illness, to define improvements for food safety and to reduce the need for product recall.
The CGSB's AHA! Certification Program provides you with a clear, recognized process to increase and demonstrate your organization's commitment to food safety. It confirms that your AHA! management system is working and that your staff provide a safe, quality product to your clients.
The Alberta Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development offers forms of certification under the AHA! Program.
- AHA! GMP Certification – achieved by implementing and maintaining the AHA! Standard Prerequisite Programs (GMPs) and Product Protection program.
- AHA! HACCP System Certification – achieved by implementing and maintaining the AHA! Standard Prerequisite Programs (GMPs) and HACCP Plans. (Note: When implementing a full HACCP system, the HACCP plans will replace the Product Protection Program.)
The CGSB offers certification to the Alberta HACCP Advantage Program.
