Overview of the Federal Sustainable Development Strategy

In October 2010, the first Federal Sustainable Development Strategy (FSDS) was released, rendering environmental decision-making more transparent and accountable to Canadians. The FSDS outlines specific targets and implementation strategies for federal departments and agencies to adhere to. Theme IV of the FSDS, titled Shrinking the Environmental Footprint - Beginning with Government, outlines targets related to greening government operations. Support for Departments and Agencies

The Office of Greening Government Operations has developed a series of guidelines to help departments and agencies implement and report progress on the Greening Government Operations Targets in Theme IV of the FSDS.
