Webinars
The CSP offers free French or English webinars to private sector organizations who are bidding or working on government contracts with security requirements. Each webinar was previously presented by subject matter experts.

Obtaining a designated organization screening

Security officer training
These free live training sessions are delivered by subject matter experts in a virtual classroom setting through WebEx and are essential for company security officers (CSO) and alternate company security officers (ACSO). There are 2 separate components to this training:
- a 3-hour theoretical session
- a 2.5-hour lab exercises session
We recommend that you register to our virtual training for both sessions in order to increase your knowledge as much as possible.

During this session, you will have the opportunity to learn about 3 overarching topics:

Maintaining your organization clearance
This topic provides information about:
- the different types and levels of organization clearances and organization security safeguards
- how to maintain compliance and remain registered with the CSP
- how to upgrade your organization clearance
- the subcontracting process
Screening your personnel (protected level)
This topic provides information about:
- the roles and responsibilities in requesting a reliability status
- how to obtain reliability status for personnel and the corresponding timelines
- the process for new, update, upgrade, reactivation, duplication and transfer requests
- the aftercare requirements
Screening your personnel (classified level)
This topic provides information about:
- how to navigate the security clearance process
- your responsibilities in requesting Secret, Top Secret and NATO personnel clearances
- the process for supplemental requests
Lab exercises session
During this session, we will take you through interactive in-depth hands on exercises that will cover the following Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) forms:
- Personnel security, consent and authorization screening form (TBS/SCT 330-23E)
- Security clearance form (TBS/SCT 330-60E)
- Security requirements check list form (TBS/SCT 350-103)
We will show you how to properly complete these forms and equip you with information on how to avoid the most common errors.
Who can attend
The sessions are open to appointed CSOs and ACSOs of organizations screened with the CSP.
How to register
To register for a training session:
- select the session(s) you are interested in attending from the upcoming virtual security officer training sessions
- this will take you to a WebEx registration form where you will need to fill in the necessary information
- you will receive an email once your registration has been confirmed
- a course package and agenda will be provided by email prior to the scheduled virtual session
