Section: Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP) – Continued coverage after cessation of employment
Subsection: Disabled member
| Coverage under the Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP) continue if a member is totally disabled on the date of termination of employment. Coverage may continue for a period of up to six months following the date of termination of employment provided that acceptable proof of such disability is received by the Administrator. This does not apply if the member is eligible to be a participant as a pensioner or a dependant.
| If the member chooses to maintain coverage he must pay in advance the total required contributions (employee’s and employer's shares).
| The compensation advisor must advise the Insurer to request continuation of the coverage. The member must pay the required contribution in advance, in the same manner as during a period of leave without pay (refer to Section IAM 2.13.3).
