SUBJECT: Alternative Delivery Initiatives

1. PURPOSE

1.1 Further to Compensation Directive 1996-037 dated September 6, 1996, the purpose of this directive is to inform you that programming has now been completed with respect to the eight new entitlement codes relating to the Alternative Delivery Initiatives (ADI) provisions under the revised Work Force Adjustment Directive (WFAD).

2. BACKGROUND/POLICY

2.1 The Work Force Adjustment Directive was amended on July 16, 1996 to address Alternative Delivery Initiatives.

2.2 Interim pay input processes had been identified for departmental clients and for the Pay Offices pending completion of the programming to render the ADI codes fully operational.

2.3 Please note that, effective April 14, 1997, programming has been finalized for entitlement codes 385, 386, 387, 388, 389, 390, 391 and 392 and as such, the interim pay input processes identified under Compensation Directive 1996-037 are hereby revoked.

2.4 The correct calculation and update of the applicable gratuity taxes for payment and statement of remuneration purposes will now be effected automatically by the Regional Pay System.

3. PROCEDURES/INSTRUCTIONS

3.1 On-line pay input may now be resumed by departmental clients for requesting payments under the ADI codes outlined above.
