DESCRIPTION: This course demonstrates how to determine the eligibility of employees, the effective date of coverage and deductions, the amount of coverage and premiums. It also outlines the procedure to follow to maintain coverage while on leave without pay, the claim process and the consequences of ceasing to be eligible. Participants also determine the relevant information that must be provided to the employees in various situations and to perform the required procedures.
While completing the course, participants access the Insurance Administration Manual and other related reference tools. They also follow a case situation and apply the rules with on-line exercises. At the end of the on-line course, participants are required to complete the Evaluation of Learning and then answer questions for the two case scenarios in the Application of Learning. Participants must bring these answers with them to the DI classroom course.

DURATION: Approximately 1.5 hours
DESCRIPTION: This course demonstrates how to determine the various pay entitlements such as the pay for the month of death, bilingualism bonus, overtime, salary revision, annual leave, death gratuity, severance pay and the payments due to the beneficiary or to the estate as well as the required supporting documents and the procedures regarding returned cheques.
