Government of Canada Pension Modernization Project (GCPMP) Achievements to Date

The GCPMP received effective project approval (EPA) from Treasury Board on June 13, 2007, and is now in its Implementation Phases. Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) began its Compensation Modernization initiatives in late 2000. The following shows how the project reached EPA.

Pension modernization is needed in order to meet the increasing demands for pension administration services, to respond to the migration of certain clients to alternative pension administration service providers, and to support broader government initiatives, such as the public service human resources reform.

PHASE I:

COMPENSATION TECHNOLOGY MODERNIZATION STUDY (CTMS) August 2000 to February 2001

PHASE II:

COMPENSATION MODERNIZATION STUDY (CMS) February to July 2001
