Section: AMENDMENTS TO THE MANUAL
The Compensation Services Directorate is responsible for issuing amendments to the Superannuation Procedures Manual for Public Services Corporations on a periodic basis as a result of changes to legislation, systems design, processing methods, etc.
Holders of the Superannuation Procedures Manual for Public Service Corporations will be notified of changes and anticipated changes to this manual by means of one of the following:
Advance Change Bulletins will be issued:
Advance Change Bulletins should be retained in the Superannuation Procedures Manual for Public Service Corporations under the "Bulletins" tab until a superseding Change Bulletin is received. These should NOT BE RECORDED on the Amendment Register sheet at the front of Superannuation Procedures Manual for Public Service Corporations.
Final amendments will be issued periodically to keep the Superannuation Procedures Manual for Public Service Corporations up-to-date (not all changes will have been previously released under an Advance Change Bulletin). A covering memo will introduce the attached page amendments and provide the amendment number.
Upon receipt of an Amendment, the authorized holder should update the Superannuation Procedures Manual for Public Service Corporations immediately in accordance with the accompanying instructions specified on the Record of Amendments page. The Record of Amendments should be retained in the front section of the manual. Advance Change Bulletin(s) that may have preceded the amendment can be destroyed.
After the volume has been amended, the authorized holder should record the change on the Record of Amendments page provided at the front of the manual. Changes to the manual will be sidelined on the amended page. Furthermore, the amendment number and date will be identified in the box located in the lower portion of the amended page.
Special Bulletins will be issued generally either to reaffirm an existing procedure or instruction or to notify personnel offices of a special temporary situation or a unique circumstance.
Special Bulletins should be retained at the beginning of the manual until the reader is instructed otherwise. These should NOT BE RECORDED on the Record of Amendments page at the front of the manual.
