Implement an electronic procurement solution to replace the current system.
Public Services and Procurement Canada has launched a project to deploy a modern, cloud-based electronic procurement solution (EPS). We are moving federal procurement online and changing the way government and suppliers interact to buy and sell goods and services. Procurement practices will become more accessible and less administratively burdensome, while also encouraging greater competition, and including practices that support our economic policy goals. It will be easier and faster for suppliers, including small and medium-sized enterprises, to do business with the government. The EPS will also help improve data quality.
In progress. The contract for the implementation and management of the EPS was awarded on July 4, 2018. Testing of the new solution began during summer 2019. The onboarding of suppliers to the EPS will follow a phased approach, with an initial round of selected suppliers expected to be invited to register and onboard in spring 2020.
