Inception Stage—« Lite » version
The purpose of the Inception Stage is to provide a forum for vetting project proposals to ensure that proposed projects are in keeping with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) portfolio strategies and respond in the most effective manner possible.
Complexity and risk are assessed for all projects. Maintenance projects with an estimated project cost of less than $1M which meet one or more of the exceptions criteria of the screening tool will use National Project Management System (NPMS) « Lite ». If none of the project screening tool criteria are met, then the project is not obliged to use NPMS « Lite ».
