Proofreading techniques (SFE-218)
This workshop is intended for administrative personnel and is conducted in English. The Translation Bureau also offers a French-equivalent course, which focuses instead on proofreading French texts. Language training for administrative personnel.
This practical workshop mainly focuses on basic proofreading techniques. Participants will learn to develop a critical eye and acquire an efficient and effective method for proofreading through practical exercises.

Employees in the Translation Bureau, other government departments and agencies and the private sector whose regular duties include writing and/or proofreading in English. This workshop is geared to administrative personnel and not to translators and terminologists.
Participants should be writing and/or proofreading in English as part of their regular duties.
This workshop is conducted in English.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- use recognized proofreaders’ symbols
- exercise good judgment in their interventions
- carry out necessary research effectively
- Do practical exercises to learn how to use recommended proofreaders’ symbols
- Practice proofreading techniques
