OSME - Success Stories: Paris Crane
Paris Crane leverages New Procurement Knowledge
Based out of Brantford, Ontario, Paris Crane Inspection Services Inc. (PCI) is a leading provider of expert crane inspection services, the sale of pre-owned equipment, and other services related to crane maintenance, repair and installation. The company’s licensed technicians have over 20 years of experience and are committed to providing the highest quality workmanship, products and services.
In March of 2011, Managing Director and Owner, Lisa Jacuniak, decided to investigate business opportunities with the Federal Government and registered for two of OSME's Doing Business with the Government of Canada seminars. Shortly after attending the seminars, Lisa used her new knowledge of the government procurement process to bid on an opportunity. In August 2011, Lisa was pleased to learn that PCI had been awarded a contract valued at $395,500.
The OSME seminars helped Lisa to navigate the buyandsell website and locate the right people inside government to better market PCI services. The Understanding the Process – the Fundamentals seminar was particularly helpful in helping PCI learn how to identify high dollar value opportunities and navigate the electronic tendering website (MERX.com) with ease. According to Ms. Jacuniak, “understanding the process, the opportunities, and where to find them is the key to being successful”. She is glad to know OSME is available to provide support and assistance for the company, as working with the government can be daunting to start, especially for a small enterprise like PCI. In her view, once the procurement process and key people are understood, doing business with the Federal Government becomes much easier.
OSME is proud to have contributed to PCI’s success in this regard.
