Appropriation Act No. 2, 1954, Vote 630, amended by Vote L12, Appropriation Act No. 3, 1989-90. working capital advance for advances to posts abroad is not to exceed $50,000,000 at any time. During the fiscal year, Global Affairs Canada exceeded its authority limit by $16,423,585 due to a series of factors including but not limited to inflation and increased financing needs.

Orders in Council P.C. 2025–0413 and 2025–0414, designated the Minister for International Trade as the appropriate minister for the Canadian Intergovernmental Conference Secretariat, effective March 14, 2025. Prior to the transfer, the Secretariat was under the responsibility of the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and non-statutory expenditures of approximately $6,848,685 were approved by the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
