Pursuant to paragraph 3 of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Act, the Minister of Industry has been appointed as the appropriate minister for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, effective March 14, 2025. Prior to the transfer, the Agency was under the responsibility of the Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and non-statutory expenditures of approximately $309,643,314 were approved by the Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.

Pursuant to paragraph 2(1) of the Department of Industry Act, the Minister of Industry has been appointed as the appropriate minister for the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, effective March 14, 2025. Prior to the transfer, the Agency was under the responsibility of the Minister of Northern Affairs, Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada and Minister responsible for the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency and non-statutory expenditures of approximately $52,527,620 were approved by the Minister of Northern Affairs, Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada and Minister responsible for the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency.
