SUBJECT: Traduction (TR) Group--Pay Supplement

1. PURPOSE

1.1. The purpose of this directive is to provide you with the appropriate entitlement code for the payment of the pay supplement included in the TR Group collective agreement.

1.2 In this text, use of the masculine is generic and applies to both men and women.

2. BACKGROUND

2.1. The new collective agreement for the TR Group (Bargaining Unit Designator (BUD) 31300) was signed on February 25, 2000, and provided a new pay supplement.

3. POLICY

3.1 The payment criteria for the new pay supplement is provided under Appendix A, Pay Notes 7 (h) of the Collective Agreement. A supplement of $5.50 for each gross hour of interpretation shall be paid to an employee who interprets the debates of the House of Commons. This supplement shall be paid twice each fiscal year. For this purpose, total interpretation time shall be calculated daily to the nearest quarter hour.

4. PROCEDURES/INSTRUCTIONS

4.1. The pay supplement listed in the collective agreement, Appendix A, Pay Notes 7 (h) is to be reported by departments using the existing entitlement code 083 "Pay Supplement".

Please note that the payment for pay note 7 (h) is to be reported as lump sum .
