SUBJECT: Superannuation Documentation Transmittal Slip (Form PWGSC-TPSGC 2241)

1. PURPOSE

1.1 The purpose of this compensation directive is to provide compensation advisors with information regarding the use of the "Superannuation Documentation Transmittal Slip" form (PWGSC-TPSGC 2241).

2. BACKGROUND

2.1 The new "Plan Enrolment and Orientation" process implemented in February2010 identified the important activities that compensation advisors will provide to support this new process.

Individuals whose "Notification of Plan Membership" (PWGSC -TPSGC 2018) were dated (generated) prior to February1,2010, were not part of the new centralized "Plan Enrolment and Orientation" process. The former process for plan members to acknowledge the "Notification of Plan Membership" using the "Superannuation Documentation Transmittal Slip" (PWGSC -TPSGC 2241) was to continue to be used by client organizations.

Client organizations were provided with a copy of the "Notification of Plan Membership" (PWGSC -TPSGC 2018) indicating that an employee has become a member of the public service pension plan.

3. PROCEDURES/INSTRUCTIONS

3.1 Effective immediately, form PWGSC -TPSGC 2241 should only be used when forwarding to the Public Service Pension Centre (PSPC) the acknowledgement of a form PWGSC -TPSGC 2018 that would have been issued prior to February1,2010.

3.2 For all other cases, the PWGSC -TPSGC 2241 should not be used when transmitting a form. This will eliminate the use of paper and, in turn, will save on cost.

3.3 Compensation advisors/employer representatives are to use the most recent version of the compensation forms with the standardized header, which are posted on the Compensation Sector's Web site at: Forms.

NOTE: Do not include a cover sheet when mailing or faxing forms to Matane.

4. POLICY

4.1 These procedures are in compliance with the Public Service Superannuation Act (PSSA) and the Public Service Superannuation Regulations (PSSR).

5. INQUIRIES

5.1 Any inquiries on the information contained in this document should be addressed to your Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) Compensation Services Office.
