Details on financial transactions beyond normal workload

The number of financial transactions beyond the normal workload increased by 6,000 from March 30 to April 26, 2023

Although intake varies month over month, the number of transactions received at the Pay Centre has steadily increased since 2021. This increase, along with the high complexity of outstanding transactions that remain, have challenged our efforts to reduce the overall number of outstanding transactions.

Nonetheless, we are making progress and the number of transactions processed each month continues to increase.

We continue to focus on addressing outstanding transactions while also working towards processing new transactions within service standards 95% of the time.

There are currently approximately 413,000 transactions ready to be processed for Pay Centre client departments and agencies, including:

  • 209,000 transactions with financial impact, which include:
    • 183,000 beyond Pay Centre’s normal workload, and
    • 26,000 repatriated to home departments and agencies for processing and closure
  • 80,000 financial transactions that are part of Pay Centre’s normal workload
  • 63,000 transactions with no financial impact, or general inquiries
  • 5,000 collective agreement transactions
  • 56,000 transactions waiting to be closed for which employees have already received payment
