Grievance support

This section describes the roles and responsibilities of parties involved in providing grievance support.
Process description
Labour relations representatives within departments may request support from the Pay Centre when resolving grievances or following the resolution of a grievance.
Human resources responsibilities
If required, the labour relations representative is responsible for:
- contacting the Pay Centre for information or support to resolve a grievance
- indicating the timeline for the response
- submitting this request, under cover of a pay action request form, through a trusted source, by encrypted email, fax or mail to the Pay Centre Mail Facility
- requesting follow-up upon resolution of a grievance
Trusted source responsibilities
Upon receipt of information request, the trusted source is responsible for assisting the labour relations representative.
Pay Centre responsibilities
Once the labour relations representative has resolved the grievance, they send a request for grievance support or a request for action to the Pay Centre. Upon receipt, the Pay Centre is responsible for:
- initiating the request
- delivering the requested information to the labour relations representative in a secure way
- informing departments if the request is not actionable within the desired timeframe
