Step 3: Organization security screening

Once your organization has been sponsored for a security clearance, the Contract Security Program will initiate the security screening process and contact your organization directly to provide the required forms.

Below is a breakdown of the main steps and forms your organization will need to complete. To obtain an advance copy of the forms that are unavailable online, contact the Contract Security Program's client service centre.

Application for registration form

On this form, you will be asked to provide information about your organization’s structure, ownership and legal status, including the names of your key senior officials (KSOs).

Security officer appointments

During the screening process, your organization will need to complete the following forms to appoint a company security officer (CSO) and alternate company security officer (ACSO):

Personnel security screening form(s)

As part of the appointment process, the CSO and ACSO will need to complete the:

If the security requirement is at the classified level, your organization’s KSOs will also need to complete the TBS/SCT 330-23E and TBS/SCT 330-60E forms.

In section A of the TBS/SCT 330-23E form for the CSO, ACSO and if applicable, the KSOs, your organization must reference scenario 3 from the list of acceptable scenarios that are accepted as justification to process personnel security screening requests. For further guidance, consult the general instructions on how to justify the security screening requirement.

Mandatory fingerprinting

Before submitting their personnel security screening forms, the CSO, ACSO and if applicable, the KSO(s), will need to get fingerprinted. Make sure they bring the Fingerprints applicant request form and 2 pieces of valid government-issued identification to an Royal Canadian Mounted Police accredited fingerprint company.
